Fernando Alfonso is an Interventional Cardiologist at the Cardiovascular Institute at San Carlos University Hospital in Madrid. His research interests include intracoronary diagnostic techniques and in-stent restenosis. He is the editor of 10 cardiology books and is on the Editorial Boards of Journal of the American College of Cardiology, European Heart Journal and Revista española de cardiología. Dr Alfonso has had 150 papers published in peerreviewed medical journals as the first author and has co-authored 160 additional papers in peer-reviewed medical journals.
