Biography

Sharon L Mulvagh, MD, FACC, FASE, is a Professor of Medicine at Mayo College of Medicine and a Consultant in Cardiovascular Diseases and Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. She is a clinical cardiologist active at international, national, local, and institutional levels in non-invasive cardiovascular imaging, specifically echocardiographic imaging using newer technologies including contrast echocardiography and myocardial perfusion imaging. Professor Mulvagh is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), the American heart Association (AhA), the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE), and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She chaired the ASE Task Force for Clinical Applications of ultrasound Contrast, culminating in consensus documents published in 2000 and 2008. She has also served on the Board of Directors of the ASE. Professor Mulvagh has moderated and chaired many scientific sessions for the ACC, the ASE, and the AhA. She graduated from the university of ottawa, and subsequently trained at Boston university Medical Center and Baylor College of Medicine.
